OCPA Outreach and Community Events

During the holiday season, many cities and communities host holiday parades to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season. For many of them, the Orange County Property Appraiser’s office (OCPA) has a heavy presence.

We enjoy participating in parades because it gives us a chance to interact with different communities that we may not have an opportunity to touch.

At each event, while our parade car is slowly making its way down the road, our staff is busy passing out information about how we serve you, the taxpayer.

From giving trifolds detailed with material about Homestead and Veterans Exemptions to touting our seasonal satellite offices that are strategically placed around the county to serve you, our goal is to inform and educate taxpayers on what we do.

One of the most popular parades that we attend is the City of Orlando’s annual Veterans Day Parade. The streets are usually lined with thousands of people ready to cheer on veterans of past wars as well as service men and women currently serving in the military. In Orange County, we have over 63,000 veterans. Giving us the opportunity to assist our veterans is always a great way to aid those who help our country the most.

Other parades and holiday events we participated in were the Avalon Park Christmas Parade, the Winter Park Christmas Parade, the Washington Shores Christmas Parade, the MetroWest Winterfest, and more.

Since 2013, our office has participated in more than 600 community events. We appreciate the connection that we’ve made with so many Each occasion gives us the space to help taxpayers with any property needs they may have that fall under the purview of our agency.

The next time you see us out at a parade or working a booth or table at a community event, give us a wave. Serving you brings a smile to our faces and we’re excited to continue that service in the New Year.
