Employment Opportunities


In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, OCPA will be postponing interviews until further notice. However, OCPA will continue to accept applications for open positions. As soon as our office is ready to resume interviews, we will advise selected candidates. Thank you for your understanding.

Orange County Property Appraiser (OCPA) office applications for employment are accepted only for those positions currently posted on the OCPA Employment Opportunities Listings page. The listings are updated as needed. A separate application must be submitted for each job in which you are applying.

Positions may be filled in as few as four weeks, but some may take longer.

The hiring department reviews all applications, selects the best qualified candidate(s) and schedules an assessment. Applicants under final consideration will be given a pre-employment drug screening and background check in accordance with OCPA policy.

Applicant must successfully pass a drug test before being accepted for employment. Refusal to submit to a drug test, or a positive confirmed test result, will disqualify Applicant for employment with OCPA for a period of one year. During employment applicant will be subject to OCPA’s drug testing policy.


Selected candidates may be required to complete a subject matter assessment and computer literacy assessment prior to an interview depending on the position.


Veteran's Preference in appointment applies when candidates are considered substantially equally qualified for a position. In that case, pursuant to Florida law, the veteran must be given preference. To receive Veteran's Preference, Veterans' Preference documentation (Form DD-214) must be submitted and must include a copy of an official document showing dates of service and type of discharge.
