Employment Opportunities


Orange County Property Appraiser (OCPA) office applications for employment are accepted only for those positions currently posted on the OCPA Employment Opportunities Listings page. This listing is updated as needed.

A separate application must be submitted for each job in which you are applying. Your application must be received by Human Resources no later than 12:00 a.m. on the day the position closes. To receive Veteran's Preference, Veterans' Preference documentation (Form DD-214) must be submitted and must include a copy of an official document showing dates of service and type of discharge.

Positions may be filled in as few as four weeks, but some may take longer.

After the job closes, the hiring authority reviews all applications, selects the best qualified candidate(s) and schedules an assessment. Applicants under final consideration will be given a pre-employment drug screening in accordance with OCPA policy. Upon completion of the pre-employment process, and if the position is still approved to be filled, the best qualified candidate will be contacted by Human Resources department.

Applicant must successfully pass a drug test before being accepted for employment. Refusal to submit to a drug test, or a positive confirmed test result, will disqualify Applicant for employment with OCPA for a period of one year. During employment Applicant will be subject to OCPA’s drug testing policy.


Selected candidates may be required to complete a subject matter assessment, computer literacy assessment, and a typing assessment prior to an interview.


Veteran's Preference in appointment applies when candidates are considered substantially equally qualified for a position. In that case, pursuant to Florida law, the veteran must be given preference.
