Orange County Taxing Authorities

Taxing authorities conduct public hearings on their proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year (October 1 to September 30). Decisions made at these hearings regarding proposed spending are the determining factor as to how much tax you will pay. The dates, times and location for the hearings are printed on your notice. You should contact the taxing authority directly for additional information.
  • Orange County (General)
    Provides county-wide services including law enforcement; correctional facilities; environmental protection; indigent health and welfare services; land use regulation and enforcement; court administration; general government activities; recreational activities and cultural events.   • Public School
    Operates and maintains Orange County's public school system, including academic instruction, administration, construction and support services. Amounts shown on notice are split into state mandate and local option taxing levels. (Phone - 407-317-3200)
  • Mandatory Refuse
    Covers collection of yard waste, garbage and items for recycling for all unincorporated residential properties. (Phone - 407-836-7001)
  • Fire District and EMS
    Furnishes fire protection and emergency medical service to residents in unincorporated areas of Orange County. (Phone - 407-836-7390)
  • Unincorporated Tax District
    Provide services in unincorporated areas of the county which are not provided in incorporated areas (Sheriff). (Phone - 407-836-7390)
  • Cities/Towns (13 Different Municipalities in the County)

    Provides such services as police, fire, sewer, garbage collection, street lighting, street repair, crime watch programs. May operate or support recreation complexes, parks, cultural activities, cemeteries, wastewater treatment plants, senior citizen and community centers.   • West Orange Health Central Hospital

  • Downtown Development Board

    Responsible for acquisition of rights-of-way and/or fee purchases for road widening, placement of underground utilities, road improvements, traffic signals, street lights, landscaping and beautification (with irrigation), including the purchase and placement of street furniture and equipment within the Orange Blossom Trail corridor.
