Michael Prestridge, Rocco Campanale receive award

The Cadastral Mapping and GIS Divisions of the Orange County Property Appraiser's office have been awarded the 2009 Outstanding Achievement Award by the Florida Association of Cadastral Mappers for a "first-of-its-kind in the country" web based Interactive Foreclosure Map.

The map, launched in May 2009, receives an average of 30,000 active searches a month. It has seen as many as 70,000 in a single month.

The Interactive Foreclosure Map has gained national attention. It was featured at the Mortgage Stakeholders Meeting in Washington DC with high level decision makers from the Federal Reserve Board, HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. It was also a featured map at the ESRI International Users Conference this past summer in San Deigo and was recently featured in the 2009 annual report of the Federal Geographic Data Committee.
