Orange County's transportation connectivity continues to improve as the County grows. The new GreeneWay and Turnpike ramp opened today helping residents get between both Orange and Osceola counties.

As home prices rebound, and the economy grows stronger while the unemployment rate decreases, more families are able to save up and purchase their first home. More great news for the Central Florida economy! According to a Brookings Institute Economic Performance study, Orlando is #11 in the country, and 73rd in the world for increased economic performance over the last year.
UCF is trying to raise the funds needed to build a joint UCF/Valencia College Downtown Orlando campus that will serve around 10,000 students on the site of the old Amway Center. UCF is looking to get $200 million in funding from the state, and raise the other $100 million from private investors. A downtown campus would mean big things for Orlando, and the continued booming growth of our Orange County community!

Gator Spot is Orlando's newest attraction and will be a great addition to the county. It is expected to add revenue to our growing Tourism economy by combining the interaction, entertainment, and education of Fun Spot and Gator Land.
At the Pappy Kennedy Breakfast yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet this fantastic man, retired Rear Admiral Barry Black, who also happens to be the current Chaplain of United States Senate.
